Bord na Móna has opened applications for Accelerate Green Grow 2026, supporting SMEs and STEM entrepreneurs scaling climate-focused businesses. The programme offers strategic mentorship, investor readiness, and access to pilot opportunities. Applications are open at accelerategreen.ie until 7 November 2025 for the January cohort.
Bord na Móna (BnM) has opened applications for the 2026 edition of its flagship Accelerate Green Grow programme, a unique accelerator for established businesses innovating in the green technology and renewable energy sectors. Delivered in partnership with Resolve Partners, the programme is part of BnM’s broader commitment to carbon reduction, climate innovation, and supporting Ireland’s transition to a low-carbon economy.
Applications are now open via accelerategreen.ie, with a closing date of Friday, 7 November 2025. The programme will begin in January 2026. Contact hello@resolvepartners.ie for any questions.
Since its inception, Accelerate Green Grow (AGG) has supported more than 60 green enterprises across the island of Ireland. It is uniquely designed for established SMEs and STEM entrepreneurs who are scaling or pivoting their businesses to align with climate-focused solutions in sectors such as:
Renewable energy
Sustainability software and AI
Circular economy and waste innovation
Biodiversity and ecology
Agri-tech, healthcare, and food technology
The 2026 edition offers a tailored combination of business strategy, scale-up support, investor readiness, and deep engagement with industry, government, and enterprise agencies. Participants also gain access to Bord na Móna’s senior leadership, innovation pilots, and facilities in Boora, Co. Offaly.
AGG Grow 2026 features eight intensive modules delivered over several months. These include:
Strategic business workshops
Climate impact mapping and validation
Investor-readiness and fundraising strategy
One-on-one mentoring with experts across climate, energy, and enterprise
Stakeholder engagement with policymakers, funders, and researchers
Live piloting opportunities in collaboration with BnM
The programme culminates in a capstone conference, where participants present their climate innovations to an audience of over 300 industry leaders, investors, and policymakers.
The seventh cohort of AGG concluded earlier this year, featuring nine pioneering companies across diverse climate-tech fields. Highlights include:
Easydry, a Dundalk-based company, received B Corp certification for its compostable products that reduce water and waste in over 25 countries.
Plaswire from Armagh advanced its RX Polymer technology, converting polymer waste into sustainable construction alternatives, showcased internationally at events such as the 55th Paris Air Show and the European Wind Blade Recycling Summit in Berlin.
A collaboration between Hibra Design (AGG 2023) and BnM’s Land and Habitats team launched the Boglands Electric Tractor Re-engineering (BETR) pilot this month, aimed at electrifying heavy-duty equipment.
Acel Energy and Conneely Builders, both AGG alumni, secured a contract to develop a 1.2MW solar farm at Shannon Airport, expected to supply up to 20% of the airport’s electricity.
KnowCarbon, a 2022 participant, now operates in 20 countries with its AI-powered Digital Carbon Twin platform for product-level carbon impact analysis.
These outcomes reflect the programme’s ambition to scale climate-focused businesses and catalyse cross-sector collaboration across Ireland’s innovation ecosystem.
According to Tom Donnellan, CEO of Bord na Móna:
“Accelerate Green is a cornerstone of our commitment to carbon reduction and green technology solutions in Ireland. We are proud to support innovators who are not only building successful businesses but also making real contributions to the Irish economy.”
The programme is ideal for founders seeking to refine strategy, strengthen climate impact, and scale globally. It provides unmatched access to mentors, networks, and potential collaborators within the rapidly evolving green economy.
Fiona Nulty, co-founder of Biosense and part of the 2025 cohort, said:
“The expert guidance, mentoring, and peer network helped us to sharpen our strategy, build confidence in our direction, and grow our ambition. It’s a well-structured programme that gives real time and support to companies working on complex environmental challenges.”
BnM’s role in Ireland’s energy transition continues beyond Accelerate Green. The company is leveraging its landbank, strategic partnerships, and decades of expertise to deliver a 5GW pipeline of renewable energy projects, including wind, solar, biomass, and battery storage. Accelerate Green is part of this national mission to develop secure, sustainable energy systems while enabling local and industrial growth.
Applications for Accelerate Green Grow 2026 are now open at www.accelerategreen.ie. Interested companies should submit their applications by Friday, 07 November 2025. Shortlisted applicants will be invited to participate in a competitive selection process ahead of the January programme launch.
