Climate Conversations 2025 invites people across Ireland to share their views on climate action and how it affects their lives. Through a simple online questionnaire, the public can help shape future policies and support a just transition to a carbon-neutral Ireland. Submissions are open until 22 September 2025.
The Government of Ireland is calling on individuals, communities, and organisations across the country to take part in Climate Conversations 2025—a national consultation designed to capture public opinion on climate action and help shape future climate policy. Everyone has a role to play in Ireland’s transition to a carbon-neutral and climate-resilient society.
Climate Conversations are a central part of the National Dialogue on Climate Action (NDCA). Since 2021, they have provided a forum for people to share how climate change impacts them and what policies and actions they believe will make a difference. Over 10,000 people have contributed their views since the initiative began.
Ireland has committed to cutting carbon emissions by 51% by 2030 and becoming carbon neutral by 2050. Achieving these goals will require meaningful engagement between government, industry, communities, and individuals. The 2025 Climate Conversations ensure that public voices help guide these critical efforts.
Participation is simple and accessible to everyone—no expertise is required.

The online survey invites reflection on:
Perceptions of climate action: What helps or hinders individuals from making sustainable choices?
Emotional responses to climate change: How do people feel about the issue?
Effectiveness of current efforts: How is Ireland performing on climate action?
Ideas for the future: What changes would you like to see?
The Government is committed to a just and fair transition. That means supporting vulnerable groups, listening to diverse voices, and ensuring that the shift to a low-carbon economy creates opportunities without leaving anyone behind.
Between 2022–2024, over 10,000 people were engaged.
Insights have helped inform Ireland’s Climate Action Plans and national strategies.
The Climate Conversations 2024 Report has been published and is available for public review on gov.ie.
Your feedback will be analysed and used to inform the Climate Action Plan 2026 and ongoing work under the National Dialogue on Climate Action. Contributions will help ensure that Ireland’s climate policies reflect the experiences, concerns, and ideas of the people they affect.
Climate action requires all of us. Whether you’re a student, farmer, business owner, or community leader—your voice matters. Join the Climate Conversations 2025 and help shape a sustainable, inclusive, and climate-resilient Ireland.
