Robert Trench and Simon Chawner, co-founders of Future Office, announce the opening of their new showroom at 71 Lower Baggot Street, Dublin 2. Setting a new precedent in Ireland’s office furniture sector, Future Office have reshaped their business model to a sustainability-first approach, by leading with their most sustainable options in all client proposals. They have carefully curated their collection to include some of the most environmentally friendly office furniture on the market, with zero compromise on function or design. Future Office is far more than just a sleek showroom; it is also an inviting, creative resource space where architects, designers and business owners can come to learn about the latest sustainable products available.
The forward-thinking pivot began when both founders realised there was a meaningful opportunity to minimise the environmental impact within the office furniture industry. Visitors can be assured that each product is carefully selected to meet the highest standards of quality, style and verified sustainability credentials.
“One of the greatest challenges we had was finding suppliers that met our sustainability criteria,” said Robert Trench, co-founder of Future Office. “We have some really exciting products. From innovative materials like mycelium-based acoustic panels grown from mushroom fibres, to table legs made from 100% recycled steel, to acoustic wall tiles made from recycled fabric waste and cork, to canteen chairs made of hemp, everything on display has some kind of sustainable, recyclability, or circular economy story.”
The city centre showroom is located within walking distance of many of Dublin’s leading architectural practices. “We are a place of business and inspiration,” Simon Chawner, co-founder of Future Office, speaks about their intention for the space. “We’re the only sustainable-focused office furniture showroom in the whole of the country, so we want architects and designers to visit us and leave inspired, informed and excited about the possibilities of these new sustainable options and manufacturing techniques.”
Future Office can be conveniently reached by public transport and by bike, encouraging visitors to reduce car use. The new Future Office showroom on Baggot Street is now open for visitors to explore its innovative collection.
